It doesn't look as good as the example picture I previously posted, but it was for Beau's birthday and he didn't care what it looked like as long as it was edible. Which is a good thing because I used the wrong type of cake recipe for it which resulted in the entire thing tipping over.
I can't wait to find a recipe, master it, and then be annoyingly predictable for all of my friends' birthdays.

Well, so much for your birthday present that I still haven't been able to give you! Part of your birthday present that I was so excited about was the giant cupcake pan! I guess I will now add the giant cupcake pan to my collection and find you something else to go with the rest of your present! I am, however, still excited about the rest of your present and already have an idea for the switch. Have you checked the Wilton website for a recipe that will work with the pan? What cake recipe did you use?
I used this really great recipe that I think was intended for something like a bundt shaped cake -- it's really moist and has a lot of give. I haven't searched for another one yet, but when I do I'll focus on a pound cake.
