I'm now 3% prepared.

I've started my food storage. I know, I know - next thing you know I'll be canning*, knitting*, and toll painting^.

Michelle is a great example and has shelves of food stored in our garage. She always says that of course she'll share if ever needed**, but I don't even want to deal with the awkward moments which will result when the food starts running out and tensions get high. I read Lord of the Flies. People can do some pretty messed up stuff.

So I'm congratulating myself on my first items of food storage: pineapple, water, and granola bars. I feel so ... prepared. Except that I've already eaten one box of the granola bars.

* Lie
^ Even bigger lie - never in a million years
** Blatant lie?

At least you're storing food that you know you'll eat (obvious by the consumption of the granola bars)! I must say I'm impressed... Before we know it you'll be storing up beans, wheat, and powdered milk. Look out!

Jessi, you're so grown up! I'm very proud of you. Do the gross cans of vegetables that I know I'll never eat count as food storage? Because I'll always store them and never eat them. So I'm 0.7% prepared.

But as usual, I will strive to be more like you.
