Shanna has been reading a book called Twilight. I’d heard bits and pieces about it, but never paid too much attention. My “books to read (but rarely have the time to)” list is already hefty enough. However, that all changed when Shanna informed me one of the main characters in Twilight is a vampire; a smooth, well dressed, mysterious, wickedly handsome vampire. Yes, please.
At that point, I had no choice but to patiently wait until she finished. It has since been passed along and I am now about 150 pages in. I can wholeheartedly say it was well worth the wait. Nearly everything that attracts me to my vampires can be found in this book. And then to find out there are sequels. Steal my heart. I can only hope there is a movie or two in the works. I already have several actors in mind.
On a side note, I must say I’ve forgotten how much reading relaxes me. I’ve always been one that enjoys it, but things get crazy and suddenly you realize it’s been weeks or even months since you’ve sat down with a good book. It’s been so relieving to slow down and block everything else out for the time being. And what better way than with my beloved vampires.
Thanks, Shann.
And now for my random question. When I lived in Logan, someone told me I needed to read this certain book about Dracula. The title was one word, and it was a best seller at Barnes and Noble for awhile. I cannot remember the name of this book and countless Google searches have turned up unsuccessful. Help? Anyone?

so i just saw a commercial for a new vampire show called "Moonlight" or something on primetime. You may never go out on THursday night again.
Jess, You are so welcome. I feel, as your roommate and friend, that is is my duty to share the excitement and thrill--not to mention, painfully romantic--of vampire love! I'm glad that your hooked and glad that I can take a small credit for it.
hi jess. i know we don't talk in real life or anything, but through various connections i stumbled on your blog today and read the whole thing. it's wonderful. anyway, i know you posted this particular post like a month ago, but i think the dracula book you're looking for is something called 'the historian' by elizabeth kostova. no doubt in the past month someone has told you already. it's a book i've had on my list as well... i actually think it's in rhett's closet. hopefully it's the same book you're thinking of.
Jon you are a lifesaver. Up until your comment, I still had not figured out the name of that book. I can now officially add it to my list.
And many thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I'm new to this blogging world so it's nice to hear that someone enjoys my little piece of it. Thanks!
It is called the Historian and yes its in my closet. You can borrow it if you want to. To be honest its more like and updated version of Brahm Stoker's Dracula. It reads the same way. But not a bad read.
Jess!! Hey I just had to tell you that on sun and the inlaws house one of the topics was the book twilight and the series. I now think that I need to read this book. Hmmm...Now to find the time!
