I finished Twilight yesterday. Sure, cheesy at parts, but I'm not complaining. At the end of the book, the author kindly offers you a sampling of the sequel, New Moon. So basically, I read the first chapter of New Moon, get all jazzed about it, run to my laptop to check availability at the library, and guess what I find? 85 holds on the next returned copy.
EIGHTY-FIVE.
Anyone else feel as if that is a ridiculously large number? Is this some kind of cruel joke? By the time I get my hands on this book, I probably won't even remember much about Twilight. And I only allow myself to buy books I already love, so that option is out. I fear I am, as they say, stuck between a rock and a hard place. It's the pits here.
Point being: anyone know someone who knows someone? C'mon friends. Hook me up.

Oh, by the way... I've been meaning to comment here. I just wanted to thank you for ruining the secret of the book for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's on the back cover - - NOW. Vampires? Are you kidding me? This is what everybody is so excited about? Vampire romance? Forgive me for having the opposite reaction to the word "vamps." And to Shanna, I'm sorry to say I'm less interested in reading the book now, so no sense in protecting me from the contents.
We'll see if I eat my words once I have a copy of it in my hands for an hour or two, eh?
I might as well write a romance novel about black Christmas angels hooking up with devils in red tights. Could be a best seller.
