tired? i know just the place.

I have the most fascinating job where I get to do the coolest things all day long. Send people information about our agency, manage our website, create program brochures, wake up the homeless man sleeping in our back storage room ....

Yes, you read that right. Wake up the homeless man sleeping in our back storage room. Well, not me personally, but another girl that I work with. Here's the story:

Yesterday afternoon, a fellow employee went into our back storage room to get some supplies. Right before walking in, she heard this strange noise that sounded like snoring. Well, open the door look around the corner and ah ha - mystery solved. I guess the snoring would be coming from the homeless man curled up under the shelves taking a nap. A relatively sound one at that because he slept right through her screaming bloody murder, running into the nearest office, and slamming the door shut. She then called someone in the office who came back, woke the man up, and told him he needed to leave. The guy simply asked what time it was and then shuffled out the door. They called the police who showed up a few minutes later and promptly arrested a man they found lingering in the back parking lot. Too bad it was the wrong guy. Poor feller was probably so confused. So that's that. Just another boring day at work.

Moral of the story is this: Homeless men, I understand that you get tired too. But if you're looking to stay warm during your nap, my office is certainly not your best bet. We were out of heat for the last two weeks of December and I swear it was as cold outside as it was in. Next time you're looking for a warm spot to get some shut eye, might I suggest some sort of fast food restaurant where at least you run the chance of getting some free food. Thanks.

Crazy story! I think I would've got in my fight stance if I were the one walking in on him. Just kidding. Did they ever get the real guy? How did he get in there? Poor guy. Makes me really grateful for my super warm little house.
Love your blog, Jessi! Always a source for good entertainment.

A restaurant may be a good idea...may I suggest McDonald's? Although it may not be as peaceful as your office. After all, it sounds like he needed some good sleep, he was sleeping pretty deep.

That happens every day at Social Security.

How quickly I forget - that certainly does happen every day at Social Security. Bring on the air freshener.

I work at the Rio Grande. One day (and this was awhile ago) my boss walked into the women's restroom and there was a lady taking a bath in the sink. Yeah.

I decided a long time ago that if I were homeless, I would totally live at the Institute Building. It's warm, comfy furniture, there's often free food, not to mention music, talks, free classes. And nice, unassuming 20-somethings.
